Svetlana’s Garden

Coming off the Monet paintings is Svetlana’s Garden. I wished to create a large painting that would capture the visual and emotional pleasure of viewing my wife’s rose garden in full bloom at the height of the season.

Svetlana painstakingly tends to the roses, trimming, training vines, watering, and nurturing them throughout the summer. It is quite something to behold and gives us both immense pleasure to behold them.

The painting was created using oils closely matching the colors of the garden and mixed with cold wax, applied in heavy impasto.
